Collection II - Whimsical, Eclectic, Sophisticated- is many and
varied. This collection
shows not only our whimsical side -“Cheeky
Monkey” and “Monkey
Business”, but also the Venetian and Classic, as in our
beautiful “Venezia”
and the supremely versatile “Antique
Panel”.
The
“Avignon”, taken
from an antique, is masterfully gesso’ed and over painted, and is
often made with seamed mirror to appear exactly as though purchased
antiquing in Provence. Our “Redouté
Flower” and “Redouté
Rose” mirrors represent the ever-popular botanical theme.
The “Dubarry”, a
classic shape, takes on a more subtle appearance than its conventional
gilded counterpart when drawn down in a gesso finish, but looks very
splashy in tortoiseshell. Three
mirrors in this collection represent chinoiserie; “Canton”
inspired by Chinese export porcelain, the understated “Indochine”
and a classic
bird and flower motif “Chinoiserie.
Collection
II is available in 12 standard colors, three finishes, and three
colors of gilding.
